An electric truck with a futuristic design and a frame-panel cabin was featured at an exhibition in Minsk. The new product has the MAZ-692E55 index, a three-axle chassis with a “sloth” at the rear, cameras instead of rear-view mirrors and a low floor. According to the Minsk Automobile Plant, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 252 kilowatt-hours will be enough for 170 kilometers, but the measurement cycle and load level are not specified.

MAZ-537 after 60 years

The MAZ plant is relying on the environmental friendliness, efficiency and noiselessness of the new garbage truck: the truck will work early in the morning in residential areas, so these qualities are relevant. It also benefits from maximum visibility thanks to the combination of side and rear rear view cameras. The “maximum level of localization” is stated, but there is no more detailed description.

It is known that the only electric motor develops 204 horsepower, and the electrical equipment was adjusted by specialists from the Minsk Automobile Plant. But the level of elaboration of the interior hints that the garbage truck is in prototype status: a portrait-oriented touchscreen was inserted into the front panel at the last moment, parts are secured with screws, and the interface is primitive.
