According to Porsche China CEO Pan Liqi, the closure of dealers is a cost-cutting measure. There should be 80 dealers in China by 2026, down from about 114 by the end of 2025.

In 2025, Porsche delivered only 42 thousand vehicles to dealers in China, which is 26% less than in 2024. The brand’s sales in the country have been declining since 2022. At that time, Porsche sold almost 96 thousand cars in China. In just three years, sales in China have more than halved.

The brand’s electric models have become a particular problem. In particular, Taycan sales fell by 22% in 2025 amid the emergence of direct competitors to the model, such as Xiaomi, on the market.

Pan says savings from dealer closures will be used for research and development, including Porsche’s new integrated R&D center in Shanghai.

Earlier it was reported that sales of cheap electric vehicles Eonyx Profi began in Russia.
