The name BYD Han L should not be misleading: there is not a single common body part with the recently updated sedan without the letter L! The increase in size is small: the “long” is five centimeters wider, the same amount longer than the regular BYD Han in terms of wheelbase and 5.5 centimeters longer. However, the lighting technology is almost identical, and it will not be easy to recognize the new product from a distance.

The base electric car is equipped with a single electric motor in the rear, but even that develops 680 horsepower! Optionally, you can order an all-wheel drive sedan with electric motors at the rear (789 hp) and front (313 hp) – it is predicted to have supercar dynamics and acceleration from 0-100 in 2.7 seconds. BYD Han L hybrids retained a parallel-type power plant with a 1.5 turbo engine (156 hp); in the rear-wheel drive version, the output of the electric motor is 272 hp, in the all-wheel drive version – 544 hp.

Since the original BYD Han in its updated form has been on sale for less than six months, you shouldn’t wait for its retirement: most likely, the L version will complement the range. A regular sedan costs from 166 to 234 thousand yuan (22.6-31.9 thousand dollars), but the flagship modification will definitely be more expensive. The timing of entering the Chinese market has not yet been announced.
