Volkswagen and Kong, specializing in pets for pets, devoted an ID rubber toy. Buzz – the modern iteration of the cult Type 02, represented in 2022. However, Kong with Volkswagen connects not only a fresh collaboration: the American company was literally born thanks to one part of the Volkswagen Transporter T2, which was attracted by the dog of its founder.
The most famous Kong product is the same rubber chewing toy for dogs in the shape of a snowman. The idea of its creation occurred to the founder of the company Joe Markham almost half a century ago when he saw his dog Fritz enthusiastically chewing a sleeve from Volkswagen Transporter T2. Markham did not manage to immediately order such a batch, and he decided to take the case into his own hands.

The next six years, the American experimented with the form and compositions, until he achieved the maximum resemblance to Fritz’s favorite part, after which he decided to put the toy into production. The name of the company, according to legend, was prompted by one of Markham’s friends: he noticed that the toy looks like Berushi for King Kong.

The new version of Kong, created in collaboration with Volkswagen, is painted in bright blue-the corporate color of ID.Buzz. The cost is about 14 dollars, or 1.2 thousand rubles. For each purchased toy Volkswagen, Kong and the VCA Charma charity fund will be sacrificed by another animal shelter. The funds from the sale of toys are also promised to be given to charity.
Meanwhile, sales of Volkswagen ID.Buzzz are left to be desired. Well equipped, but the dear electric car did not reach the mark of 30 thousand units sold around the world. In the ranking of “battery” cars of the concern, it was located only in seventh place, yielding to Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID.7.
