At least, this is what the Belarusian-Chinese brand strives for, which was told by the General Director of Beldzhi, Gennady Svidersky. “By the decision of the shareholders, we set for ourselves the goal of being a number alone in the Republic of Belarus and strive to be two in the Russian market,” Svidersky said. At the same time, he announced that until the end of 2025, hybrids and electric cars should appear in the gamut of Belgee. Which models are in question, Svidersky did not specify.
To date, the Belgee Model in Belarus has three models: these are X50 (prerestyled Geely Coolray), X70 (Geely Atlas Pro) and S50 (Geely Emgrand). All of them are produced at the Beldzhi plant near Minsk. In the Belarusian market, according to the results of 2024, Belgee and Geely sold 25,239 cars in total, the LADA took second place with the result of 12,312 cars sold.
In Russia, the situation is different. Over the past year, the Russians bought more than 436.1 thousand LADA cars, Geely sold 149.1 thousand cars, taking the fourth line, and Belgee – 34.6 thousand cars (ninth place). If the Belarusian-Chinese brand marks in second place, then it should overtake the current leader, Haval, who completed 2024 with an indicator of 190.6 thousand pieces. Thus, Belgee will have to increase sales by 5.5 times.
The digit of the day: how many cars produced and sold the Belarusian Belgee to Russia will reach the Belgee sedan Belarusian Rodzichi: what you need to know about Belgee crossovers
This is a difficult task, especially if you take into account that the declared design capacity of the Beldzhi plant is only 60 thousand cars a year, and even with the prospect of increasing capacities to 100 thousand, the enterprise will not be able to reach the HAVAL indicator. In a conversation with reporters, Svidersky said that in the first half of the year the plant increased the capacity of the coloring workshop by double – from July it will be 120 thousand in two -shift operating mode.
A few days earlier, Belgee declared himself a “automobile brand from the heart of Europe.” The company argues this by the fact that, according to the conclusions of the Belarusian scientists, the geographical center – that is, the heart of Europe – is located in the Vitebsk region, in the vicinity of Polotsk. This fact is confirmed by Russian scientists from the Central Research Institute of Geodesy, Aerial Air Relations and Cartography (TsNIIGAIK).
