The Autostat agency publishes a list of the most popular new cars in the SUV segment (crossovers and SUVs), which Russians will switch to in 2024. The top three included exclusively models from Chinese brands, while the domestic Lada Niva Travel was only fourth, and the classic Niva Legend was sixth.
It follows from the report that Haval Jolion has become the leader in the crossover and SUV segment on the Russian market. This is not only the most popular SUV in Russia according to the results of last year, but also the best-selling foreign car. Jolion finished last year with 83,828 units sold, which is one and a half times higher than the 2023 figure. The production of the model, we recall, was organized at the facilities of the Tula Haval plant.

Second and third places in the past year were taken by two Chery models: Tiggo 7 Pro Max and Tiggo 4 Pro. The first sold 64,811 copies, which corresponds to an increase of 57.9 percent compared to 2024. The second choice was chosen by 52.7 thousand Russians (+60 percent).
The three listed models surpassed the domestic Lada Niva Travel in popularity, the result of which was 50,188 units sold. This is seven percent more than AvtoVAZ managed to sell for the entire 2023. Niva Travel took fourth place in the ranking, and fifth place went to the Chinese crossover Monjaro – the most popular (and expensive) Geely model in the local lineup. Monjaro ended the year with 47,893 units, which corresponds to an increase of 2.3 times year-on-year.
