The Polestar brand introduced the updated version of the Model 3 electrocrospector. Without changing the appearance and salon dramatically, the engineers conducted a serious technical modernization of the car.

The main change was the transition to a modern 800-volt electric architecture instead of the previous 400-voltova, and in addition, more productive engines were installed. However, these improvements influenced the range of travel – in some modifications, the course of the course was reduced.

Thanks to increased voltage, the crossover can now be charged at powerful stations with a current force of up to 350 kilowatts. This allows you to replenish the battery charge from 10 to 80% in just 22 minutes, which is a quarter faster than the previous version. In addition, a single battery with a capacity of 111 kilowatt hours was replaced with two different options. For models with one engine, a 92 kilowatt-hour battery is designed, and for all-wheel drive versions-106 kilowatt hours. Both are produced by CATL.

As a result of such changes, the distance that the car can drive without recharging now varies from 593 to 604 kilometers. True, in the last version this figure was from 567 to 706 kilometers. Only the most powerful Performance equipment received a small increase in range, while the basic version lost 102 kilometers at once. At the same time, the company claims that the energy efficiency of the new Polestar 3 increased by 6%, partly due to the function of disconnecting the front electric motor with uniform movement.

The manufacturer pays particular attention to a completely new electric motor on the rear axle. In the basic version, he produces 333 horsepower and 480 Newton-meters of torque, accelerating the crossover to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.5 seconds. The maximum speed of the machine is 210 kilometers per hour.

In all-wheel drive modifications, the front engine is added to it, which increases the total capacity to 544 horsepower and 740 Newton meters, or to 680 horsepower and 870 Newton-meters in the top version. Thus, each modification has become more powerful, and the Performance version added as many as 163 horsepower. Its acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour now takes only 3.9 seconds instead of the previous 4.7 seconds.

Another significant improvement was the replacement of the “brain” of the car. The crossover received a new NVIDIA Drive AGX Orin processor, which increased the performance of the onboard computing system from 30 to 254 trillion operations per second. The company guarantees that this powerful chip will be installed not only on new cars, but also on already sold specimens.

Among other innovations – the ability to order an active air suspension for the intermediate version, which used to be exclusive for the most powerful modification.
