The list is dominated by mass-produced models of South Korean and German brands aged from three to five years with engines up to 160 hp, for which a preferential tariff applies when calculating the disposal fee.

“One of the most popular options for import to Russia from Korea is the Kia K3 sedan or Hyundai Elantra. Both cars are practically the same model, but with different appearance. They are equipped with a 1.6 engine (123 hp) and a CVT. The price is from 1.9 million to 2.3 million rubles,” Dmitry Rogov, founder of the RogovMobil company, told Motor magazine.

Hyundai Sonata and Kia K5 are also popular among Russian buyers. We are talking about versions with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 160 hp. c, paired with a classic 8-speed automatic transmission. Prices for such cars vary from 2.3 million to 2.8 million rubles.

The list of cars profitable for import from South Korea also includes used Samsung XM3 cross-coupe (copy of Renault Arkana, about 1.8 million rubles in Moscow), Volkswagen Golf hatchback (3 million rubles) and Mercedes-Benz C-class sedan (from 2.1 million rubles).

The expert noted that most new cars from South Korea are richly equipped. The buyer can count on leather trim, ventilated front seats, multi-zone climate control, a sunroof and power seats.
