The crossover is a renamed Lynk & Co 09, which is essentially a redesigned second-generation Volvo XC90 (the brand also belongs to Geely). They have a common SPA platform, the same wheelbase, but the Nordcross has a longer length – 5042 mm.
Unlike Volvo, Nordcross 001 does not have air suspension. Nordcross swallows seams and joints confidently, but kicks when lying down. At the same time, the ground clearance remains unchanged at 221 mm, said Za Rulem expert Yuri Timkin.
Retractable door handles do not work ideally in winter conditions: they close with noticeable distortions. The expert called going into serious off-road conditions on this expensive SUV “a so-so prospect.”
There are no physical buttons on the center console in the cabin, and the journalist called the media system interface “confusing.” The glossy screen has a lot of glare – the driver can clearly see his reflection. The third row of seats is described as “very conditional”, and the electric folding mechanism once stalled halfway, and I had to roll the seat back and start the process again; manually, according to the expert, everything is faster.
Visibility is a separate issue: poorly shaped side mirrors leave blind spots. The rear camera is installed in such a place that it gets dirty instantly, and it does not have a washer.
Access to the neck of the windshield washer reservoir is difficult. The final price—almost 7 million rubles—raises questions: for this money you can buy Li L6 and L7 hybrids, while similar-sized Soueast X90 Plus or GAC GS8 cost three and two million cheaper, respectively.
