A used Ford Grand C-Max minivan is distinguished by its resistance to rust, and costs up to 1.5 million rubles. Sergei Zinoviev, an auto expert at the Za Rulem magazine, spoke about this.
“The main versions are 1.5 diesel (95, 115 or 120 hp) with manual gearbox or robot. There are no special issues with the engines, except for the flimsy turbocharger actuator. Serves 300 thousand km. The focus mechanics of IB5 are almost native to us. The Getrag 6DCT451 robot with two wet clutches has become much better after modernization – you can count on 250 thousand km,” said the expert.
Among the shortcomings, Zinoviev noted the high cost of repairs; 1.5 EcoBoost petrol turbo engines are “too risky an option.” According to the expert, such engines often overheat, leaks, destruction of the piston group, as well as breakdowns of the head gaskets can occur. Electricians can also “bring surprises.”
The auto expert said that with dimensions of 4520 mm in length and ground clearance of 140 mm, the trunk volume ranges from 79 to 439 liters. At the same time, almost all Ford Grand C-Max minivans put up for sale are offered for 1.5 million rubles.
