After entering the Russian market, this car earned a reputation as a good crossover at a reasonable price. However, as experts from the publication “Behind the Wheel” found out, when choosing this model on the secondary market, future owners should be aware of a number of typical “sores.”
Pre-restyling versions (until 2023) were equipped with a single naturally-aspirated 1.6 engine (117 hp) with an aluminum block, timing chain drive and direct injection. With a compression ratio of 13, “Behind the Wheel” expert Sergei Zinoviev does not recommend using AI-92 gasoline, despite the manufacturer’s permission – it is better to use 95. There are practically no complaints about this engine, not even oil consumption has been recorded. However, cars with mileages under 150 thousand km. There are only a few on the market so far, so there are no comprehensive statistics.
After restyling, the engine was replaced with a turbocharged 1.4 (150 hp) with direct injection. There are no reliable statistics on it yet due to low mileage, but experts predict that the intake tract will inevitably become overgrown with carbon deposits.
Pre-restyling versions were equipped with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a Japanese Aisin TF‑73SC hydraulic automatic transmission, whose service life reaches 300 thousand km. However, the automatic transmission has a weak spot – the heat exchanger. By 100 thousand km it becomes clogged, which leads to overheating of the box. The expert recommends replacing it with an external radiator, which is more efficient and easier to clean.
After restyling, only the 7-speed “robot” with two wet clutches Tsingshan DF727 remained. The declared resource is 250 thousand km. But already at 15-30 thousand km, owners notice the appearance of kicks and jolts. The cause is usually a worn clutch and requires calibration.
Owners complain about the harsh suspension, although its elements last at least 80-100 thousand km. However, knocking noises from the steering mechanism may appear as early as 30–50 thousand km.
The engine compartment is poorly protected from dirt – there are no rubber seals for the hood, there is only a plastic visor at the bottom. This accelerates corrosion of connectors and contacts.
The windshield washer pump turns into a consumable for those who forget to fill up the anti-freeze on time.
Electronics regularly mope: the tire pressure monitoring system, rear view camera, remote start fail, the media system settings are reset.
Complaints about early body corrosion are rare and are usually associated with small chips.
Owners praise the headlights and efficient heater, but criticize the savings on small things: a hood without a gas stop, a cramped and unlit glove compartment, the lack of a niche for a smartphone and a heated steering wheel.
