In the first two months of 2026, only 41 new Chery cars were imported into Russia. This is 100 times (or 99%) less than in the same period last year, when 4.2 thousand cars were imported. Almost all deliveries were made to individuals. The head of the analytical agency Autostat, Sergei Tselikov, announced this in his Telegram channel.

“The sharp reduction in Chery import volumes began at the beginning of last year. But small volumes still remained. And only by the beginning of this year, imports practically disappeared,” the expert noted.

Tselikov advised fans of the brand not to worry, since the three main models are produced in Russia under the Tenet brand. In addition, there are many Chery sub-brands on the market. So buyers still have a huge choice.

Previously, it was reported that imports of passenger cars increased by 35% in February. The volume reached 46.8 thousand pieces, which exceeds the figure for February last year (35 thousand). The main suppliers of new cars remain China (67.2%) and Kyrgyzstan (20.5%). As for used cars, in February they were imported mainly from Japan (60.2%), China (21.2%), South Korea (7.7%) and other countries.

Earlier it became clear how many Chinese auto companies will ultimately remain in Russia.
