Washing the underbody and suspension is necessary after winter, off-road driving and in the rain, as well as before diagnosing and selling the car. The director of the service and spare parts department at Avilon Tank, Igor Boyarsky, told Motor magazine about this.

“You should order a car underbody and suspension wash after the winter season. Road agents and salt actively accumulate on suspension elements and in hidden cavities, causing corrosion and destruction of protective coatings. Spring deep washing helps stop these processes,” the expert said.

According to him, you need to order a car wash after off-road trips, since dirt, sand and clay stick to the components and can accelerate the wear of silent blocks, hinges and other parts. In addition, long trips in rainy weather have a negative impact: moisture, combined with road chemicals, creates an aggressive environment for the metal.

Boyarsky noted two more cases when washing is necessary: before diagnostics and before selling the car. A well-maintained underbody increases buyer confidence and can affect the final price.

Washing the underbody and suspension is not so much a matter of aesthetics as it is a preventive measure that allows you to extend the life of the car and reduce repair costs, the expert concluded.
