Since the end of September, the Lada car production schedule can be reduced from the current five days a week to four, the press service of the Volga plant reports. The reason is in weak demand, because of which large reserves of non-distributed cars have accumulated in the warehouses.

The management of AvtoVAZ will make a decision to reduce the working schedule in early autumn and will voice on September 29. Until then, cars will continue to assemble five days a week.

AvtoVAZ is pushing “General Trends in the Russian Automobile Market” to such measures, the manufacturer’s press service reports. This is a high key rate of the Central Bank, which the auto giant has already complained: because of it, loans are less accessible to the population. In addition, the requirements for borrowers are tightened.

According to the forecast of the head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov, the demand for LADA according to the results of 2025 will pass by 20-25 percent. Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov confirmed that for reasons beyond his control, AvtoVAZ will reduce production this year. He did not name numbers, and insiders talked about a decrease from 500 thousand to 400 thousand.
