AvtoVAZ proposed replacing preferential loans with direct discounts

The auto giant’s vice president for external relations and interaction with shareholders, Sergei Gromak, stated the need to think about transforming the car loan program. According to the top manager of AvtoVAZ, significant funds have been included in the budget to support the automobile industry, but car loans are still not available to citizens due to the high interest rate and high requirements for borrowers.

“We are discussing reformatting measures in the industry community,” admitted Sergei Gromak. An AvtoVAZ representative proposed a simplified scheme with direct certificates rather than discounts on a car through a loan. At the same time, it is planned to issue discount certificates to buyers as part of the trade-in program or when disposing of a used car through a dealer.

The head of AvtoVAZ explained the stoppage of production of Lada Vesta and Niva 24% of Americans owe more on car loans than the cost of the car AvtoVAZ revealed the average salary of workers at the plant

It is no coincidence that AvtoVAZ started talking about reform of the preferential car loan program. According to estimates by the head of the auto giant, Maxim Sokolov, by the end of the year the share of Lada Vesta sold on credit will reach 80-85 percent, and in the overall model range the share of transactions with credit products is up to two-thirds. At the same time, borrowed funds are not available to Russians, and this puts pressure on sales.

In 2025, 36 billion rubles will be allocated from the budget for preferential car loans, and another 27 billion rubles will be spent on preferential leasing. The programs have been in effect since 2017: benefits apply to employees of education, medical institutions, participants and family members of SVO participants, persons with disabilities, as well as families with a child living in the Far East.
