Nine models of the domestic brand have been shipped to the country: they will undergo testing, after which AvtoVAZ will receive permission to sell them on the local market. TASS writes about this with reference to the trade representative of the Russian Federation in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) Vyacheslav Kharinov. The cars are expected to reach Vietnam in February next year.

The first to go to Vietnam were Lada Granta and Vesta, as well as SUVs – Lada Niva Legend and Niva Travel. TASS was told about this by companies that may become AvtoVAZ dealers in the Asian republic.

According to Kharinov, AvtoVAZ has registered a local representative office and is already looking for potential partners. The first results of AvtoVAZ’s entry into the Vietnamese market can be judged by mid-2025, but he is confident that Lada will be popular among the Vietnamese. Especially “Nivas”, which are useful in mountainous and wooded areas.

It has become known when AvtoVAZ will start producing crossovers. 17 new Lada Auras have been shipped to the State Duma. GAZ minibuses have started running in Vietnam.

The trade representative also recalled that KamAZ has long been established in Vietnam and the GAZ assembly plant, GAZ THANH DAT, launched in 2019, has been operating for several years.

Iran is considered the most promising export market at AvtoVAZ. In an interview with Rossiya 24, the head of the auto giant, Maxim Sokolov, said that sales of new cars in Iran will allow Lada to feel confident. The passenger car market capacity in Iran is about a million units per year.
