The Black-α version (read as Black Alpha) is available with diesel or gasoline engine, and the design of the cabin depends on the choice of the power unit. The M60i XDRive Black-α, for example, has floor mats made of wool and decorative overlays using Maki-E technique. There is such a crossover of 21.4 million yen, which corresponds to 11.8 million rubles.
The BMW X7 Black-α special version, like other limits for Japan, focuses on traditional crafts and wealth of their motives. The crossover is painted in the resin-black “metallic” Frozen Black. The frozen enamel gives the car a look of an abyss, in the depths of which Swarovski crystals, the ICONIC Glow and the panoramic roof of the Sky Lounge with a geometric pattern of LED threads flickered. Two modifications are offered to choose from customers: X7 XDRIVE40D Black-α and X7 M60i XDRIVE Black -α. But only the M60i has the front panel and the central console decorated decorative overlays using Maki-E technique.

The Nishiki Lounge concept had similar rugs, but they were made in the Kasuri technique, which are characterized by torn, uneven contours of the picture. The circulation of X7 Black-α will be 100 copies. Ninety cars will be diesel, nine – gasoline. The tenth X7 M60i XDRIVE Black-α will go to the winner of the golf tournament BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup.
