BMW’s Mercedes-Benz G-Class competitor will hit the market in 2029

The new product will receive the internal factory index G74. According to Autohome, unlike all current models of the Bavarian brand, the G74 will be a car with a fundamentally different design. The most important thing is that it will not have smooth lines.

The appearance of the G74 will correspond to the new design code of the Neue Klasse brand. The technical basis for the new product will be the upgraded platform of the next generation BMW X5. This will unify production and reduce development costs, while maintaining the driving performance of the car.

It is expected that the range of engines will include both traditional gasoline engines and hybrid power plants that can provide the necessary traction on off-road terrain.

It is noteworthy that BMW is not the only premium brand targeting the niche of the legendary G-Class. According to industry sources, Audi and Genesis are developing similar projects in various stages of completion. Thus, by the end of the decade, Mercedes-Benz’s monopoly in this segment may be broken.

Earlier, Russians were told about serious problems with their cars in the spring.
