As TASS reports with reference to the Nikkei Asia portal, these measures are related to the upcoming EU amendments to recycling legislation.

The new rules will require manufacturers to use a certain percentage of recycled plastic in their cars.

In response, the company plans to increase its use of recycled materials, including recycled steel, aluminum and plastic, including from old cars. The possibility of using such raw materials both in the interior and in the production of body and engine parts is now being studied.

The company already uses recycled materials, which make up about a fifth (20-25%) of the weight of the produced car.
