Byd: charging electric cars will become as fast as refueling

The Chinese auto giant presented the latest development-1000-volt architecture, which will significantly reduce charging time even compared to the advanced 800-voltova. The technology window will become a five -meter Han L EV sedan: BYD claims that it will be possible to replenish the supply of its energy by 400 kilometers in just five minutes.

Electric cars on the new platform will be able to charge at stations with a capacity of 1000 kilowatts, said BYD founder Van Chuanfu during a direct broadcast from the head office in Shenzhen. The traction battery supports charging 10C current (that is, ten times higher than the nominal capacity in ampere hours).

Such charging in just five minutes will add energy, which is enough for 400 kilometers of the journey, they are certified in BYD. That is, the speed will be comparable with the speed of refueling fuel machines. True, there is no such powerful charge yet, but BYD promises to install more than four thousand units throughout China. At the same time, the company does not call the deadlines.

Han L EV will receive lithium-foxfate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 83.2 kilowatt hours. His stroke in the Chinese CLTC cycle is 601-701 kilometers. That is, in five minutes the battery can be charged by about 60 percent.
