At the Tokyo Motor Show, which will be held from January 10 to 12, students from the Nissan Automotive College will demonstrate three unique projects: the Z Lealia sports station wagon, the Neo Skyline retro coupe and a modified Bluebird Maxima sedan. All cars are the result of a creative reinterpretation of classic models using modern design solutions and technologies.
The main exhibit will be the Nissan Z Lealia, a sports station wagon based on the second generation Nissan Stagea. The car received the front part from the Z sports coupe and the rear elements from the Leaf electric hatchback. Despite the somewhat disproportional silhouette, the car in pale yellow Ikazuchi attracts attention with its unusual design.

The second project, the Neo Skyline, based on the Infiniti G35 coupe, embodies the spirit of the classic Skyline of the 70s. The car features distinctive round headlights, a vintage grille and sculpted rear fenders finished in Tomoaki Blue. The third exhibit was a 36-year-old Bluebird Maxima sedan with an original wide body kit, while maintaining the classic silhouette and interior.
Earlier it became known that the “charged” Mazda MX-5 from the Spirit Racing division will debut at the Tokyo Salon. Exterior changes include side skirt extensions, a new front splitter and compact spoiler, and six-spoke black wheels. The brake calipers will also be modified, and special stickers will complement the look. Technical specifications have not yet been disclosed.
