The brand’s line has been replenished with a family model with the highest serial number, which is larger and more premium than the others. It has a seven-seater interior, rich equipment, and the trunk with the seats folded down is gigantic. Tiggo 9 will be offered in Prime and Ultra trim levels with a non-alternative turbo engine, Chery’s own gearbox and all-wheel drive with a Chinese clutch. The cost for pre-order, which closes today, is from 4,190,000 rubles. Prices at the start of sales are from 4,150,000 to 4,450,000 rubles.
Tiggo 9 has all the signature features of Chery, but looks more expensive than others: the flagship has more noble proportions, door handles “recessed” into the body and multi-spoke aluminum wheels measuring 19 or 20 inches. At the back there is a fashionable mono-flashlight, pipes spaced on the sides and a visor over the glass. The body for Russia was galvanized. It can be painted in one of six colors: deep black, sky blue, sparkling white, matte gray, tech gray and emerald green.
With names at Chery, as usual, everything is not simple: in our country the name Tiggo 9 was given to the Chinese Tiggo 8L, but the original Tiggo 9 in the homeland of the brand is a different model. However, it should also reach Russia, but under a different brand and name – Jaecoo J9.
The crossover reaches 4.81 meters in length, 19.3 meters in width, and 1.74 in height with a 2.8-meter wheelbase of 2800. Geely Monjaro and GAC GS8 are tipped to compete with it. There may also be internal competition under the large Chery umbrella – for example, with the co-platform Exeed RX and Jaecoo J8.
The 2+3+2 interior is richly equipped. The front panel has a 15.6-inch touchscreen with Ultra HD resolution, and to the left of it is a 10.3-inch digital instrument panel. Both screens are already included in the crossover’s “base,” as well as a head-up display that can provide navigation tips.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto protocols are present, but they can be left in reserve: there is a built-in Yandex.Navigator, and music can be listened to through VK services.
Electric adjustments are plentiful, including buttons for folding the two rear rows into an almost flat floor. With the backrests raised, the trunk volume is less than 200 liters, but the maximum volume can reach 2150.
The Chery Tiggo 9 is powered by a two-liter turbo engine with direct fuel injection and intercooling. It produces 249 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque, available from 1750-4000 rpm. It is paired with the 840AHA automatic machine. The drive is full Torque-on-Demand with a multi-plate clutch in a single structural module with a rear differential, which locks in 0.1 seconds.
The crossover “according to the passport” takes exactly eight seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour, and the maximum speed is 200 kilometers per hour. It is recommended to refuel with 95-octane gasoline. “Nine” is promised high fuel efficiency, but Chery does not provide figures.
The car is equipped with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link at the rear. There are seven driving modes: normal, economical, sport, sand, mud, snow and off-road.
Chery assures that it has carefully prepared the flagship for the cold. It has a full “winter” package with remote start and interior heating, heated seats in the first and second rows (and already in the “base”), steering wheel, windows and mirrors.

The initial Prime package is offered with a panoramic roof, 540-degree visibility (360 around and 180 under the bottom), dual-zone climate control with air vents for all rows, acoustic glass, wireless charging and voice control. There is a function to delay turning off the headlights (Follow me home) and various “connected” services. The driver’s seat is adjustable in six directions, the front passenger seat is adjustable in four.
The salon is decorated with atmospheric lighting, and eight speakers are responsible for the sound. The list of ADAS systems includes blind spot monitoring, lane change assistance, rear collision warning, tire pressure monitoring, and more.
The Ultra adds side parking sensors. Passengers in the second row have access to electrically adjustable and ventilated seats, and the driver has massage. The number of speakers in the audio system has been increased to 14, and the list of assistants includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, parking assistant and traffic jam assistant.
Tiggo 9 will mark the beginning of a series of new products that Chery has prepared for Russia. In 2025, the entire line will be updated: the Chinese will bring modernized versions of the Arrizo 8 business sedan, the “junior” Tiggo 4 crossover, and the Tiggo 7 Pro Max and Tiggo 8 Pro Max family crossovers.
