The “Eye of God” system will get even cheap models, albeit with cut functionality. For example, electronics will not be able to work in the city. For senior models and subsidiaries, BYD has stored more advanced options – including with one or three lidars.

The founder and chief executive director of BYD Van Chuangu believes that after 2-3 years, autonomous control systems will become as required as airbags. The company headed by him intends to become a leader in this area, so at the presentation of the new version of the company autopilot God’s Eye (“Eye of God”), it was announced about its implementation in all models, including the most affordable. We are talking about the BYD Seagull hatchback worth only 70 thousand yuan (900 thousand rubles).

The autopilot is integrated immediately into 21 model – these are 11 BYD models and 10 subsidiary brands. Moreover, there are three options for “the eyes of God” with different hardware filling and performance. The least expensive models will get a version of God’s Eye C with 12 cameras and 17 radars. The more advanced God’s eye B, in addition, has Lidar, and the number of sensors is increased to three dozen. The top -end God’s eye a has three lidars and twice as much computing power than God’s eye b – but such an autopilot will get only Yangwang vehicles.

It was also announced that in the electronic architecture of Xuanji, which underlies the “Eyes of God”, the Deepseek R1, which can be used for a wide range of tasks, from processing natural language to machine vision, will be integrated. This should improve the operation of autonomous control systems and minimize the number of errors. The autopilots of God’s Eye A and God’s Eye B will be able to work both in the city and on highways, God’s Eye C – only on highways.

All these innovations so far concern only China, where up to 21% of accidents occurs annually due to the driver’s fatigue. Autonomous control systems can increase safety, but, as a rule, they are available only in the price segment of 200 thousand yuan. Given that the “eye of God” will receive significantly cheaper models, BYD may well make a small revolution.
