The Landtrek truck has undergone a planned restyling and moved away from the original model. Peugeot does not have its own frame pickups, so they took the Chinese Changan Hunter (Kaicene F70) as a basis. Initially, the French brand dealt only with the exterior and interior, but now a commercial 2.2 Multijet turbodiesel and a different transmission have been adapted for the Landtrek.
Cars you didn’t expect from Peugeot
Before the restyling, the Peugeot Landtrek was available only with rigidly connected all-wheel drive and six-speed gearboxes: automatic and manual. Now the top versions have a transmission with an automatically engaged clutch at the front and an 8-speed ZF automatic. The 2.2 Multijet turbodiesel, familiar from commercial FIATs, can develop 180 or 200 horsepower.

Among the stylistic improvements is the transition to a different media system (although the touchscreen is still the same 10-inch) and replacement of the front panel. The pickup also has a different radiator grille, new Peugeot labels and a large inscription in cursive on the rear side. The buyer can choose between a single-row (two or three seats) and a two-row cab.

The original Changan Hunter Plus is available in Russia, but this pickup truck has a completely different appearance and technology. In other markets, a similar truck may be sold under the name RAM 1200 or FIAT Titano, that is, Stellantis’ transition to Chinese technology is in full swing.
