Chinese special vehicles based on old Toyotas will be produced in Russia

The Telegram channel “Autopotok” claims that an agreement on the construction of a new plant was signed at the Russian-Chinese automobile forum “Manage the Future” in Moscow. On the Chinese side, production will be carried out by Brilliance Auto, and the main products will be ambulance vans. Probably, we are talking about the localization of JinBei brand cars in Ufa.

It is not specified which vehicle will serve as the basis for Russian ambulances, but there are about ten suitable vans in the Chinese Brilliance Auto line of commercial vehicles. Since the 1990s, under the Jinbei brand, they have been producing and selling converted copies of the Toyota Hiace and Granvia, so that almost all of the brand’s products have Japanese ancestry.

The most modern Jinbei fuel model is a copy of the previous generation Toyota Hiace H200 from 2004. China produces a whole galaxy of vans and minivans with rear-wheel drive, 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission, naturally aspirated gasoline engines (2.2, 2.4 or 2.7 liters) or turbodiesels with a volume of 2.5 or 2.0 liters. .8 liters.

Probably, Russian-Chinese ambulances from Ufa will compete with Gazelle-NEXT and Sollers Atlant. Perhaps the localization of special vehicles will be the first step, and then production of other commercial Brilliance Auto models will be organized in Bashkortostan.
