Ilya Zibarev is known as a retro -car collector, as well as the founder of the Soviet toy museum, who retained more than a thousand toys, most of which are associated with the theme of transport. In his automobile collection – more than forty units of equipment, among which the “time capsules” occupy a special place – authentic low -eating machines that have been preserved in perfect condition.

The concept of the exhibition is built around the figure of a collector and his collection: his motivation, principles of selection and preservation of objects. The exposition will combine the personal story of Zibarev with the history of objects – from cars to toys that in Soviet times formed ideas about transport and design. Through archival materials, interviews and photographs, the path of the collector will be revealed, and objects from the private collection will be presented with an emphasis on their technical, cultural and aesthetic value.

“Enthusiasts and collectors of transport are guardians, restorers, researchers, transport culture popularizers. Their lively interest in this topic inspires others. With the advent of transport museums, the preservation of the transport heritage, which used to lie on their shoulders, has become one of the most important museum tasks. With the help of the “Club of Collectors of the Moscow Museum of Transport”, we want to combine the experience and excitement of motorists and the examination of the cultural institution to represent collections in order to most widely represent the transport history of our country. At the same time, our “Collector Club” is a meeting of a variety of collectors: art collectors and retro cars, philatelists and bukinists, with whom we plan to regularly meet and create new exhibitions, ”added Oksana Bondarenko, director of the Moscow transport museum.
