BYD’s premium sub-brand Denza has quietly updated its Z9 electric sedan. The model received a modified front bumper, new side mirrors, and its power increased by almost 900 horsepower relative to the base modification. Carscoops reports this.

With accelerated model updates becoming the industry norm, even relatively new electric vehicles require scheduled mid-life cycle upgrades. Exactly 18 months after the presentation of the Denza Z9 electric sedan (analogous to the Z9 GT Shooting Brake), the first images and technical details of the updated version appeared, which received a completely redesigned design and, as expected, a more powerful power plant.

Provided by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the images reveal the Z9’s updated sporty exterior. The front end gets redesigned split LED running lights, while the main headlights are positioned along the black lower edge of the grille. The side panels of the body retained their streamlined shape, but new optional rear-view mirrors appeared, reminiscent of solutions from Volvo and Polestar. The door handles have also been redesigned, and the rear gets slim LED taillights. The dimensions of the car are 5090 mm in length, 1980 mm in width and 1490 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3025 mm.

The flagship version of the Z9 family will be a modification with three electric motors: two with 416 hp each. and one for 362 hp. — total output 1328 hp. This is more powerful than the existing Z9 GT Shooting Brake (1274 hp). The maximum speed of the new product is 270 km/h, curb weight is 2588 kg.
