The first public display of the Smart #2 prototype will take place at the Beijing Auto China 2026 Auto Show, which will be held from April 24 to May 3.

The manufacturer reports that the project is in the final stages of development. To confirm this, last month the brand published the first spy shots of a camouflaged prototype and announced the start of global road tests.

The sales plans for the new electric car are ambitious: Smart #2 will be launched not only on the Chinese market, but will also appear in Europe, as well as in other markets. The estimated start of sales is scheduled for the end of 2026.

With the advent of Smart #2, the brand’s electric family will expand to four models, which already includes crossovers #1, #3 and #5. The history of the brand, which was originally created as a premium solution for urban mobility, began in 1998. The first generation of the iconic ForTwo microcar sold more than 2 million copies in total. The current stage of development began on January 8, 2020 with the founding of a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, headquartered in Ningbo (China), the key objective of which is to accelerate the transition to the production of electric vehicles.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia they sell a VAZ-2101 with lambo doors and a powerful engine.
