The Voyah Free expert begins to sort out the weak points from the electrical side. The greatest number of complaints comes from “gray” pre-restyling cars produced before 2024. They are equipped with a problematic gearbox: owners complain about the noise of the bearings – and even an increased oil volume (3.6 liters) does not solve the problem. In advanced situations, replacement of the gearbox or bearings is required.
According to the specialist, over time, antifreeze corrodes the seals and penetrates the electric motor. Inverters behave like in any other electric vehicles – no one is immune from power surges. Batteries are generally durable, although cell imbalance can sometimes occur. As for the ADAS system, the weak point is the parking sensors: their braids rot, which is why the sensors stop working or transmit incorrect data.
The floating panel was one of the main features of the pre-restyling Voyah Free, but over time the mechanism failed. In the updated version it was abandoned. As the expert notes, in Voyah Free+ the interior has become more luxurious and multimedia has become faster.
The pre-restyling Voyah Free was equipped with an SFG15TR (108 hp) engine with distributed injection, after the update – a DAM15NTDE (150 hp) with direct injection. The second is more sensitive to fuel quality. The specialist warns: contrary to myths, Chinese hybrids do not know how to heat the oil on their own. In cold weather, the engine must be forcibly warmed up, otherwise scuffing is possible.
The front suspension is reminiscent of Audi: two upper arms, a pinch bolt. Ball joints gradually fail. On the first cars, wheel bearings began to howl already at 15-20 thousand km. The main problem is a knocking sound from the rear suspension, which can be cured by replacing the struts and supports.
The inner pad wears out 10-15% faster than the outer one. Due to active recuperation, the brakes become soggy. The auto expert advises switching to minimal recovery once a week to keep the mechanisms working. Corrosion is not a problem yet. The car as a whole is reliable with timely maintenance, but little things like problems with parking sensors and suspension spoil the overall impression.
