The list included Chery, Haval, Geely, Lifan and Changan cars, the owners of which in 2025 were more likely than other owners of Chinese cars to contact service stations for brake system repairs. Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of car service centers Fit Service, told Motor magazine about this.

“Last year, Chery owners more often than others encountered problems with soft pedals, extended braking distances, overheating and disc beating,” Rodionov said. — Haval owners complained about the brakes’ low resistance to overheating. The owners of Geely stopped by with the problem of accelerated wear of discs and replacement of pads, and Changan – with complaints of squeaks, vibrations during braking and the need for early replacement of pads and discs.”

According to company analysts, in 2025, owners of Geely Coolray, Haval F7, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max (including other modifications of the family), Lifan X60 and Geely Atlas most often applied for brake repairs, the source noted.

The frequency of calls to a car service center for brake repair by owners of these cars depends on two factors: the rapid growth of the Chinese car fleet in Russia and the specific operating conditions. The harsh climate and constant traffic congestion force drivers to frequently resort to emergency braking, Rodionov said.

In addition, many car owners, trying to save money, install inexpensive and not always high-quality pads and discs, which naturally reduces the service life of the entire brake system, he added.

Earlier, Russians were told why the engine does not start in cold weather.
