The Ford brand brought the GT Mk IV track supercar to the legendary race track under the control of Belgian driver Frederic Vervisch, who has the status of a two-time winner of the Nürburgring 24 Hour Marathon. The car itself has an engine with an output of more than 830 hp, and its cost exceeds $1.7 million.
At the end of 2022, Ford introduced the GT Mk IV track supercar, which became the latest version of the current generation Ford GT model and will be produced in the amount of 67 copies.
The project is a joint creation of Ford Performance’s factory racing division and Canadian engineering team Multimatic, who have completely redesigned the original supercar.
The extended chassis of the Ford GT Mk IV is combined with a new carbon fiber body, carefully designed from an aerodynamic point of view, and seriously modified components.
Now the Ford GT Mk IV completed the Nordschleife in 6 minutes and 15.977 seconds. Faster were the hybrid Porsche 919 Evo (5 minutes and 19.5 seconds) and the electric Volkswagen ID.R (6 minutes and 5.3 seconds).
At the same time, the supercar, thanks to the results shown on the race track, managed to earn the titles of the fastest fuel-burning and fastest American car.
