The Creta, beloved by Russians, was updated in its Indian incarnation a year ago. Now the SUV has the long-announced electric version of the Creta Electric, which will compete with the electric cars from Mahindra and Suzuki. There are few details yet, but it is known that the new product has only one electric motor and a pair of batteries to choose from, providing up to 473 kilometers of range without recharging.
The electric Hyundai Creta can be identified by its bumper with a cap on the front. Here, there was no “pixel” optics, which Hyundai gives to new electric cars: a pattern of tiny squares covered black panels on the front and back. The front bumper houses active flaps, and other reflectors are visible at the rear. The rims are also special; their dimension is 17 inches. The CCS Type 2 charging hatch is located in the front center, under the Hyundai nameplate.

The interior is similar to that of a gasoline crossover, but the gearbox selector has been moved to the steering column. The steering wheel is borrowed from the Hyundai Kona, and the dashboard graphics, apparently, were designed specifically for the “green” Creta. There will be four trim levels, but there are no details yet.

As for the “technique”, the new product has only one engine of unknown power. But there are two batteries – 42 and 51.4 kilowatt-hours. They should provide the crossover with 390 and 473 kilometers of travel, respectively, according to the Indian measurement cycle. The minimum acceleration time from zero to 100 kilometers per hour is 7.9 seconds.
With a DC device, the Creta Electric will charge from 10 to 80 percent in almost an hour. The power of such charging is 60 kilowatts.
The crossover will be presented live on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Delhi. It is expected that Hyundai will then reveal new details, sales start date and cost.
