The user of the social network shared photographs of I-Pace electric cars at the Charles Trent Limited dump in the south of the United Kingdom. About twenty crossovers are installed on a special design and are ready for disposal. Extreme measures were initiated by the manufacturer: Jaguar could not eliminate the risks of spontaneous combustion of the LG CHEM batteries and decided to redeem the cars from the owners.
Tesla killer?
Jaguar I-Pace will have to be launched under the press due to glitches of the traction battery. Several response campaigns did not solve the problem, changing the battery is too expensive, so the car manufacturer decided that it would be more profitable to redeem and dispose of dangerous electric cars. The exact number of crossovers prone to the fire is unknown: only in the USA there were almost three thousand cars under the review. In the UK, Jaguar I-Pace was first popular, so in the homeland of the brand at risk there can be more cars. It is curious that complete machines want to dispose without damage, although some spare parts would clearly come in handy in the secondary market.
At the auction in the UAE they sold the cult Jaguar of the 1990s, broken in Russia
The Jaguar marketing strategy also raises questions: the company practically stopped the production of new “old” waves, although the new electric cars are not yet ready. In the same UK, dealers were re -profiled for the sale of used cars, and the reboot of the brand de Fact will take place no earlier than the summer of 2026.
