The incident occurred on the night of February 24 on the square of the Savyolovsky station. The footage was published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The recording shows one of the traffic police officers standing near a patrol car, after which an explosion occurs, everything around is filled with smoke. The footage also shows that at the time of the incident, passenger buses were parked nearby, and cars were driving along the roadway.

According to the Mash Telegram channel, the bomber turned out to be a 22-year-old resident of Udmurtia, who had recently been in St. Petersburg: studying to become a welder and working part-time at a furniture factory. The man tried to find additional sources of income, but he couldn’t, so he took out microloans. On the night of February 24, a Russian arrived in Moscow and at 00:05 Moscow time committed a terrorist attack at the Savelovsky railway station.

As a result of the explosion, the patrol car was damaged. City emergency services were at the scene of the incident. Doctors hospitalized two injured traffic police officers; their colleague received injuries incompatible with life. The man is survived by his wife and two minor children.

According to the Investigative Committee, the cause was a suicide bombing by the attacker. Currently, law enforcement officers are investigating criminal cases under articles of encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers and illegal trafficking in explosive devices.

Earlier in Moscow, drivers were asked to stay at work due to snowfall.
