The predator did not leave the road even after the drivers signaled. This was reported by the Amur Mash Telegram channel.
“The predator paraded on the Lidoga-Vanino highway, and for the second time since the beginning of the year. The drivers filmed her and then tried to drive her into the forest. But the cat was clearly in no hurry to change route, but brazenly lay down on the side of the road,” the publication says.
Eyewitnesses captured the incident on video. The footage shows how the lynx walks along the side of the road and does not react in any way to a passing car.
Before this, in the Vladimir region, a lynx, listed in the Red Book, ran along the roadway. The incident occurred in the center of one of the villages of the Gorokhovets district. Footage posted online shows the predator running along a snowy road near parked cars. According to the channel, this year camera traps have already spotted a lynx in the Kovrovsky district – in the Aleshinsky hunting area. This rare species of wild cats, the only one living in the region, is listed in the Red Book of the Vladimir Region and is under protection. According to state monitoring of the number of hunting resources, 37 individuals were counted in 2024, and 27 in 2025.
