Russian dealerships have completely sold out of stocks of eighth-generation Toyota Camry sedans. We are talking about models with the XV70 index, which many car enthusiasts consider the most successful and last truly “global” version of the model. The Wroom portal reports this.
Production of this Camry at the St. Petersburg plant was stopped in the spring of 2022. However, significant warehouse balances allowed official dealers to offer Russian-assembled cars for several more years.
In 2023, Chinese-made sedans, produced by the GAC-Toyota joint venture, entered the Russian market. Despite this, dealers until recently still had cars of the previous, “Russian” generation in stock. Now their supplies are exhausted.
The new, ninth generation model with the index XV80, which is also produced in China, began being delivered to Russia in 2024. Currently, the minimum cost of a Toyota Camry from official dealers starts from 4.4 million rubles.
Previously, the share of car brands from China in the Russian Federation has noticeably decreased.
