It became known which colors of cars sell best in Russia

SberAuto service experts studied sales on their platform last year and compiled a rating of the most popular body shades. The leaders remain the cheapest and most practical white, black and gray: they accounted for almost two-thirds of sales. But among the less popular shades, changes have occurred over the year.

White accounted for about 28 percent of sales in 2024, three percent less than in 2023. White Lada Granta and Hyundai Solaris often found new owners. Black cars were chosen by 22 percent of SberAuto users (21 percent a year earlier), and gray cars took a 15 percent share versus 16 percent in 2023.

As for other colors, blue turned out to be the most popular: seven percent of users chose dark blue cars, one percent – light blue. One of the most popular models in blue was the Geely Monjaro.

Brown cars accounted for a seven percent share, followed by red (five percent) and green (two percent). Buyers were most interested in compact cars and crossovers in these colors.

Orange, yellow and purple cars remain the least popular: less than one percent of each of these colors were sold on the site.

In 2024, the popularity of brown color and shades has almost doubled. At the same time, Russians have fallen out of love with green: in three years the share of such cars has fallen three times.

Last year, a record number of used cars were sold in Russia. The volume of the secondary market amounted to 6.04 million vehicles, which was the best figure in a decade. A quarter of sales came from Lada, Toyota came in second, and Kia rounded out the top three.
