Japanese authorities are urging local residents to actively use energy-saving methods of driving. TASS reports this with reference to the country’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ryosei Akazawa.
Energy-saving methods of driving a car mean avoiding sudden acceleration, long warm-up of engines and other techniques.
Previously, Japan found itself “in an energy impasse” due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Russia’s tough position on the supply of petroleum products.
At the same time, local officials are confident that the country will be able to survive the crisis through a combination of alternative routes for the purchase of oil and the release of strategic reserves.
