They are issued with “Vehicle Type Approvals” (VTA), which allow them to begin mass production and sales. Both crossovers are certified under two brands – Jaecoo and Jeland, and their manufacturer is the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg. Motor got acquainted with the OTTS for the new models.
The manufacturer of both crossovers is AGS LLC with the address of the former Korean Hyundai plant in Sestroretsk. Jeland (or Jaecoo) J6 for the Russian market is certified in two versions – front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. For the front-wheel drive version, a 1.5 turbo engine with a power of 147 hp is provided, which is paired with a six-speed robotic gearbox.
The all-wheel drive version of the J6 is equipped with a 1.6 turbo engine producing 149 hp, which is paired with a seven-speed “robot”. Among the equipment available for the crossover are heated seats (front ones with electric drive), a heated windshield, and a set of active safety systems.
The Russian-assembled Jaecoo J7 crossover also has an alternative name Jeland. It will be available only in front-wheel drive – with a 1.6 engine producing 149 hp. and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Earlier, AGR Holding, which owns the former Hyundai plant, announced a new Jeland brand for Russia, but did not provide details about its model range.
