Sports have its own theory of relativity. On the one hand, the tournament value of points does not change depending on which part of the season they are earned. If in the struggle for the title you lost to the opponent one single score, then any lost score can be called decisive. Including the one that was lost in the very first match or in the very first race of the season. And in the case of the Russian series of ring racing – even in the very first qualifications, because for the best time of the circle in the corresponding race, as many as 10 test points are charged here. As much as it is accrued for the finish in 7th place in a longer of two weeks of weekend.
On the other hand, emotions from loss of glasses at the start of the season and at his finish are noticeably different. Damage or departure from the highway at the first stage is not perceived as a tragedy. Although, with the final calculation of points, it may turn out that it was this breakdown or this departure was fateful. But if a similar failure happens in one of the decisive races …
The stage of the Russian series of ring racing in Kazan on September 13-14 in its format and schedule is almost no different from the already held. But the eyes of these athletes will probably not be a little like in July, when the participants in the RSKG SMP came to Kazan for the previous time. There will be tension in the eyes: after all, the September races in the capital of Tatarstan open the decisive phase of the season. Two autumn stages will determine the names of the winners of the season and separate the winners from losers.

The focus, of course, is the top -end class of SMP TCR Russia with the fastest racers and the most successful teams. It is possible that it is in Kazan that the tension will reach its peak. After all, after recent races near Moscow, the three leaders were noticeably condensed: if earlier racer on the first and third lines of the general offset shared 32 points, now – only 19.
The current champion is Mikhail Simonov, a pilot from the Samara region, playing for the Lukoil Racing team. The third is another pilot of the “red-white”, Petersburger Artem Slutsky, whose presence in the first three looks like a big surprise (we recently talked about the reasons in detail). What still provides Artem with the chances of the title – luck or progress in the field of piloting – the non -indifferent public has not yet decided.
Finally, in second place with a lag of 14 points from the leader is Alexander Smolyar. Many consider it to be the fastest, but for the third season in a row, a Muscovite for various reasons at the beginning of the season gives headlights to rivals, and then they heroically catch up with them. This season, the reason was late for a new car.
At the first stage, at the wheel of a middle -aged Hyundai i30 N, a racer playing for the SMP Racing team could not reveal its potential. And when the new Leon Cupra VZ came to the second stage, the first race on it had to start from the last place (the rules provide for such a fine for changing the car during the season). One way or another, the handicap is once again played out and Alexander is ready to battle for the title.

A separate intrigue lies in how serious the help of applicants for the title by teammates will be. In particular, Vladimir Atoev, the SMP Racing racer, in the last two stages had the opportunity to let Smolyar go forward and give it the opportunity to score extra points – and every time he did not. Both times the team found rational explanations for this, in the relationship of Smolyar and Atevo, no tension is felt … But will it not be enough at the end of the season that the very “not donated” parties to Alexander will not be enough to the title?
The situation in Lukoil Racing is even more interesting. The third racer of the team is Zakhar Slutsky, the twin brother of Artem. And before, along the racing, the brothers helped each other more than once – but helped in the struggle against riders of other teams. Now you can present the following situation. Simons (higher) and Artem Slutsky (less high) retain the chances of the title. The leadership of Lukoil Racing (and it was never shy to use team tactics) at a certain moment it is logical to give Zakhar to support the racer whose chances of the championship are higher. That is, to help Simonov – and it is possible that to the detriment of his native brother. Will such an order from the boxes of “red-white” will receive? And if he does, will Zakhar fulfill him? Questions are not a million dollars, but, quite possibly, the title of champion of Russia.

In addition, this struggle has another “participant” worthy of attention. This is the Kazan Ring Canyon highway, where on September 13 and 14, the penultimate stage of the SMP RSKG will be held. To build a circuit, the territory of an abandoned sand quarry was used. And thanks to this, there are extremely few even areas here, the asphalt tape is constantly diving down, then it takes off up.
Thanks to this, Kazan Rang Canyon, firstly, has no competitors in the struggle for the title of the most picturesque route of the country. And secondly, the relief becomes a serious challenge for riders. A characteristic example is the last ligament, known under the unofficial name, the turn of courage. Before the very apparatus of the left turn, the road goes through a fracture, so the steering wheel must be turned to a certain angle, not yet seeing the turn, blindly, on the machine. At the same time, at the input, the turn has a small reverse slope (from the inside of the route to the external) – a barely noticeable but increasing risk of destabilization of the machine. And from the apex, a steep descent begins, due to which in the middle part of the turn (which passes at decent speed) the machine acquires additional inertia. Moreover, the influence of this inertia increases very sharply. Holding on the trajectory, the car rushes under the slope to the next, right turn. And the longer the car rides to the slope, the stronger its inertia, which prevents it from brake and turn as it should.

And there are several such insidious sites where the risk of error is much higher than the average, at the Avtodrome in Kazan. Even if you go in complete solitude, it is not so easy to “dance” on the verge of clutch and squeeze the maximum from the car and tires. In the struggle, when your trajectory is very different from the ideal, it is doubly more difficult to do. And when a load of responsibility is added, when any wrong movement can deprive you of a chance for the title, everything becomes just incredibly difficult …
So, the races of September 13-14 in Kazan should be watched especially carefully.
