The reason was a defect in a two-liter four-cylinder engine: it has low-quality piston rings from the Dongsuh Federal-Mogul supplier. This is fraught not only with increased oil consumption, but also by its leak, which can lead to a fire.
Kia learned about the problem at the beginning of the fall of last year. To date, more than 400 incidents that have occurred with Soul and Seltos are known due to the identified problem. In most cases, the engine engine failed, in four situations there was a fire due to oil leakage.
