On August 23 and 24, the Moscow Raceway highway accepts the second consecutive weekend of the Russian series of ring racing. And among athletes who should follow are racing twins from St. Petersburg. One of which seriously claims to the championship title in the top -end class of Russian races.

In Russia, setting off a trip to large races is a risky business. After all, the season is short, and the number of racing weeks is much less than in Formula 1. And there is always a risk that the next visit of famous racers and teams to your region will also take place next year. This weekend is the last chance for the inhabitants of Moscow and the Moscow Region. On August 23 and 24, the Moscow Raceway Avtodrod will host the last one this year of the Moscow Region SMP RSKG, the Russian series of ring racing, the largest and prestigious and prestigious racing tournament of the country.

The last time in the year, the inhabitants of the metropolitan region will have the opportunity not only to monitor competitions from the stands, but also to plunge into the racing theme. To chat with athletes as part of a daily walk around the pit lane or to get in the backstage of the competition-boxes of racing teams. Drive along the highway by a passenger on a supercar or take part in virtual races using a simulator, in terms of complexity of design, not so much different from the racing car.

All the information from the raids scheduled to the list to the list of all audience activities is on a special page. We will pay attention to one of the participants in the upcoming racing weekend. A person whom many are still perceived as an actor of the second plan, but who at any moment can shoot and become the main character of a separate stage. And even the whole season!

Brothers-lines are not uncommon in the world of auto and motorsport. You can recall Michael and Ralph Schumachers, and Mark and Alex Markes are now competing with each other in the MotoGP championship. Among the participants in the NSR RSKG there are also several fraternal couples. But Artem and Zakhar Slutsky stand out even against this background, since they are the only twin brothers in Russian races.

Since childhood, the guys were carried away by high speeds and together performed in many competitions, from junior categories of the picture to formula 4 and races on car cars GT along European routes. So the question “Which of them is Artem, and who is Zakhar?” set at many points of the planet and in different languages.

In recent years, the brothers have again focused on performances in Russia. And now they are competing with the best riders of the country in the Russian championship in the top -end SMP TCR Russia. Taking advantage of the support of a considerable number of fans, because there are a reason to follow the Slutskiy people from both Russian capitals fans. Slutski were born and live in St. Petersburg, and now they play for the legendary metropolitan team Lukoil Racing Team. For which the stage on the Moscow Raceway will be in the full sense of the word a home race: the base of the team is on the same Novorizhskoye Shosse as the Avtodrom.

The transition to the past offseason to the red-white team allowed the brothers to reboot. Prior to this, Artem and Zakhar spoke for another team on middle -aged cars, and their results often turned out to be failure. A couple of times, following the qualification, Slutsk were on the last two lines, and in the races they were more than once led by the technique. And although no one would dare to call the brothers slow, the fans are gradually accustomed to the fact that Petersburgers are not among the leaders. When in the spring of this year, SMP TCR Russia participants were preparing for the start of the season, few were waiting in the fall to see one of the Slutsk among the winners.

Few awaited – but many who saw. Having joined the honored team and having received more modern equipment at their disposal, the brothers began to regularly flash among the applicants for victories in qualifications and races.

In Paddok, distinguishing Artem from Zakhar is not an easy task. Even many people who regularly communicate with the brothers can do this only for tattoos available to racers. But there are no problems with recognition problems on the track, because the twins compete on different cars. Zakhar performs on the Korean Sedan Hyundai Elantra N, Artem – on the Spanish hatchback Leon Cupra Vz, the most modern car from the routes presented on Russian routes.

The difference in cars affected performance. Elantra N allows you to go very quickly, but this season the team can not fully understand the operation of the starting engine control program. And already twice Zakhar showed an excellent result in qualifications and started in the race from the first row, but lost several positions in the first hundred meters of distance.

But Artem fully used the potential of a brand new Spanish car. In eight races already held this season, he finished 6 times the first three (though he was gone to a prize position twice due to a fine for incorrect riding). And at the moment is in the overall standings on the second line. Between the current champion Mikhail Simonov (last year to win the title on the first attempt) and Alexander Smolyar, behind whom a serious foreign career in the picture and younger formulas (for example, victories in formula 3). And if you calculate the mentions in the media and social networks about the leaders of the championship, 45 percent of Simonov and Smolyar will probably have to go to Slutsky only the remaining 10 …

Such a shortage of attention to one of the applicants for the championship can be justified by the fact that Artem (unlike his main rivals) has never won either qualifications or race during the season. On the other hand, it cannot be ruled out that the racer will achieve progress in the decisive phase of the season. And to delete from the number of applicants for the title of Artem, in no case. Including by virtue of elementary mathematics. Now the Petersburger is on the second line of the standings, yielding 21 points to the leading Simonov and ahead of Smolyar by 11 points. Meanwhile, there are three more stages ahead, on each of which one racer in theory can earn 67 points.
