The car will be withdrawn from the Japanese automaker’s lineup after nine years on the assembly line. There will be no direct successor to the Lexus LC. It is possible that a replacement for this model will appear in the Lexus lineup later.

Production of the flagship Lexus LC 500 coupe will officially cease in August 2026. This was reported by Road&Track with reference to the auto company’s official notice addressed to dealers, which was confirmed by a brand representative.

The coupe, which debuted in 2017, has remained a niche model over the years. By December 2025, total global sales of Lexus LC exceeded 15 thousand units, and the hybrid version became especially rare: only 8 LC 500h cars were sold in 2024

For 9 years, Lexus LC was produced in various special series, as well as under an individual assembly program to suit the requests of a specific client. Compared to cars from other automakers that focused on hybrid models and turbocharged engines, the technical component of the Lexus LC manifested a classic approach.

Under the hood of the Japanese coupe, the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine has been preserved. The iconic model will likely be replaced by electric vehicles like the previously shown LFA concept. There will be no direct successor to the LC 500.
