Mazda announced several electric premieres until 2030

The priority will be the release of new hybrid and electrical models, mainly crossovers. The company is going to carry out updating existing cars only after 2030. Among the nearest electrified innovations is the hybrid version of the CX-5 crossover, which recently survived the change of generation.

Its debut is scheduled for 2027. It is important to note that, unlike part of the hybrids created in cooperation with Toyota, the CX-5 Hybrid will receive a hybrid system fully developed by Mazda engineers based on their 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine.

Global expansion will also affect electric vehicles. Mazda intends to remove the EZ-6 electric liftback and the EZ-60 cross-liftback, originally designed with Chinese Changan exclusively for the PRC market. In the same 2027, the appearance of the first electric car, created by Mazda completely independently, is expected.

In addition, from 2027, a serial version of the Iconic SP hybrid concept should appear on the market. This car with a benzoelectric installation is positioned as a successor of a cult RX-7. The legendary MX-5 is expected to retain the internal combustion engine after a generation shift, planned for 2029.

Models that have already won their place in the market-CX-30, CX-50 crossovers, as well as larger CX-70 and CX-90 on another platform-will be a deep update no earlier than the end of this decade or even at the beginning of the next. The change of generation is waiting for the compact family of Mazda3. The current, presented in 2019, is planned to be updated only in 2032.
