The company has recently patented a technology that will change the appearance of the wheelset to any, limited only by the shape of the screen itself. It will be possible to tune the picture with the help of a multimedia system, voice control, mobile application, and even directly through the screens on wheels – it is assumed that they will be touch.

According to the patent, the screen can cover the entire wheel, only part of it or even go over the needles. It will be enveloped from a wireless device, and the data for the image will be sent by wireless communication.

The system offers to choose wheels and describe the desired picture-for example, disks in the style of the 1950s with the image of a flame

The screens will be supplemented with sensors that measure the speed and acceleration of each wheel. This will allow you to hold the picture in an upright position while driving, and also provide spaciousness for imagination: for example, an animated flame will bend in the right direction when driving forward, turning and braking. It will also be possible to “fill” the wheels with virtual water.

Animations of various difficulties are also provided – a running person, different colors and drawings that change depending on speed. Generative AI will be able to create pictures based on voice queries.

While Mercedes-Benz is thinking about how to add more screens to the car, BMW chooses a different way. In January, the development director of Frank Webber said that the current display of the Panoramic Idrive X system is quite large, and overly wide touchscreens are complex and even dangerous in management. In his words, a hint of Mercedes-Benz and his Hyperscreen Hyperscreen were spotted.
