Thanks to the innovation, MBUX Voice Assistant will be able to answer various questions, take into account the context and provide expanded information if necessary. The update can be downloaded starting today and will reach three million vehicles.

Starting today, Mercedes-Benz has begun distributing a major update for the MBUX multimedia complex, which will expand the capabilities of the voice assistant. In the new version, he will have access to ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing search engine and will learn to answer common questions – from pop culture and geography to health and science. The request history will be stored in the system for one hour, so the AI can take into account the context of the conversation and refer to earlier data if necessary.

For example, after the question “How many awards has this or that performer received?” you can immediately ask “What year was the first one?” – and the AI will give the exact answer. MBUX Voice Assistant will also retain its previous functionality with the ability to receive information about the weather, stock quotes, news and match results. Requests will be stored in the Mercedes‑Benz Intelligent Cloud, but in an anonymized form and without reference to the driver. In total, three million Mercedes around the world will receive the update.

Mercedes-Benz has also certified a new version of the Drive Pilot autopilot in Germany. From now on, it can drive a car at speeds of up to 95 kilometers per hour instead of 65, and at the beginning of 2025, customer cars will begin to be equipped with it. Those who use the previous generation autopilot will be able to upgrade the system for free: “over the air” or with a visit to the dealer – depending on the model.
