Mitsubishi is preparing a Triton Raider pickup. The new flagship received off-road settings and more powerful characteristics aimed at harsh conditions. Carscoops reports this.

The new model is named Raider and is positioned as the most “off-road” in the line. The inspiration comes from the Triton rally car that won last year’s Asia Cross Country Rally.

Australian engineers were involved in the development of the Triton Raider, with an emphasis on adapting to the country’s challenging terrain. According to Mitsubishi, final testing took place in the Flinders Mountains in South Australia, where the pickup proved its capabilities in harsh conditions.

The only teaser image released isn’t very clear, but suggests that the Raider is based on the Triton GSR. Visual differences are minimal: the most noticeable detail is the darkened insert at the bottom of the front bumper.

Earlier in Russia, sales of new hybrids increased sharply.
