A technical task has appeared on the portal of tenders and procurement from the Moscow City Department in Competitive Policy. The authorities are ready to pay 52,946,611,366 rubles for the supply of 700 large -class city electric buses, the provision of services for their subsequent service and repair for 15 years. According to the telegram channel “Buses and in general,” the terms of reference hints at KamAZ-52222.
Although the tender has just appeared, the acceptance of applications will end in early June, and the supplier has to be installed, according to the sources, they can determine the process of technical specifications: according to sources, they are a futuristic KamAZ-52222 electric bus. Moscow has already purchased 400 such cars for 29 billion rubles with a 15-year service for maintenance and repair.

The application for 700 cars as a whole is exactly the same, but there is a nuance: after 2025, Moscow intends to purchase electric buses with the Reverse Pantograph technology. Now all the metropolitan electric buses are charged like this: transport drives up to the station, a pantograph is moving out of the roof and joins the charger.
Since 2025, the scheme will be different: the charger will change places, the pantograph will lower to the electric bus from the charger. In theory, such a solution will facilitate transport, reduce it to it (for 5-6 cars you will need only one pantograph), as well as increase the margin. In test mode, the reverse pantograph worked on two machines since 2021.
The new technology also has disadvantages. In winter, the current receiver can owe that it promises problems with charging. In addition, electric buses until 2025 inclusive are not compatible with new technology, that is, in Moscow you will have to develop two independent chains of charging stations.
