The fate of the title decided a controversial maneuver (a clear and rude tearing of the opponent in the interests of the partner) – and the pilot that missed the championship after the finish rushed to the offender’s car not with compliments. It is unlikely that it would have reached a fight, but the intervention of mechanics in the situation looked timely.

All this is called the Russian championship in the class of SMP TCR Russia, the stages of which are part of the HIK ends program of the Russian series of ring racing. We simply cannot stay away from such fun-and this season they became partners of one of the participating teams. Moreover, not simple, but very ambitious, fighting with more experienced and rich groups.

The Russian Championship is not Formula 1, but here everything is very serious. In general, in Russian races, 90% of participants act at their own expense, but exclusively professionals drive the SMP TCR Russia. Machines – the international category of TCR: two dozen tournaments across the planet are held on these, including the World Cup with stages on four continents.

Among the teams are the most experienced and successful Russian “stables”. And their sponsors are completely non-poor oil workers: leading teams perform in the colors of Gazprom, Rosneft and Lukoil. And these racing authorities are challenged by the “Our” team called Innostage Ag Team. This team is less than 10 years old. Compare with the rivals: the current champion in the team standings Lukoil Racing has already celebrated its 30th anniversary, and the factory team of the Lada brand has been counting the story since 1970. There is no oil money in the budget: the title sponsor, Innostage, operates in the field of cybersecurity.

All this does not interfere with success: the Innostage AG Team racers were more than once to come to the finish line – last year, for example, won two races (out of fourteen). But there are few such episodic successes. Now she sets herself a goal to make her pilots prize -winners of the championship – or even fight for the championship.

So for whom and where to root?

The season will begin very soon – the first stage of the Russian championship will be held on the Moscow Raceway highway from May 15 to 17. The stage consists of two races, one will pass on Friday, the second on Saturday.

In the Innostage Ag Team, three Volga racer will be launched – Yegor Sanin from Ulyanovsk, Pavel Kalmanovich from Togliatti and Rustam Fathutdinov from Kazan. The most successful of this three according to the results of last season is Yegor. And before he regularly attracted attention. Having debuted in adult races at the age of 14, at the wheel of Lada Kalina, he won the Russian Cup for much more experienced riders the first time. A few years ago, at one of the stages, Yegor was forced to start both races with the last, 28th position-and finished both races in the first three, having made 54 overtaking.
