The technical side of the issue also requires attention. Installing a massive gas cylinder inevitably steals useful space in the trunk or reduces ground clearance if it is mounted under the bottom, which directly affects geometric cross-country ability. Additional weight of tens of kilograms increases the total weight of the car, changing its behavior on the road, the interlocutor noted.

Maintenance and repair of gas equipment require highly specialized service centers, the network of which is not as developed as that of conventional service stations. This can create difficulties on long trips or when urgent repairs are needed. If the car is new and has a dealer warranty, then the question of a full warranty after installing the LPG remains open.

Another important nuance is the effect on engine performance. Even the latest generation of modern gas equipment may prevent the engine from reaching its full factory potential. We are talking about a small but noticeable loss in power at high speeds and, more importantly, a possible impact on the durability and service life of highly accelerated engines, added Timashov.

Thus, the decision to install gas equipment requires a balanced and individual approach. Unconditional savings on every liter of fuel can result in hidden costs: loss in dynamics and controllability, difficulties with maintenance, warranty risks and doubts about the long-term service life of the engine.
